August 2011 - New Neighbourhood Release

The third neighbourhood at Wigram Skies, Hastings, was recently launched to the public.  This new neighbourhood consists of 32 sections and it is anticipated that titles will be available in October this year.

Like the previous neighbourhoods, Hastings continues the Wigram Skies' tradition of commemorating flight or aircraft once used by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF).

The Hastings aircraft was originally designed and built for the Royal Air Force (RAF), and was used for freight and personnel transport.  Able to carry 50 troops, Hastings was the largest aircraft of its type at the time.  The Hastings was used by the RNZAF from 1951 until 1963 when it was replaced by the Hercules.  Unfortunately, none of the four Hastings flown in New Zealand survive today.
